Running overdrive in your amp? You NEED a boost pedal!

Welcome to the show. ’Tis the norm for me and Dan to use higher headroom amps on That Pedal Show, and derive a greater proportion of our overdrive from pedals. But y’know, rock’n’roll really is about more heavily overdriving amps, whereupon you run into a whole new world of discovery with gain pedals. Short story, gainer overdrive pedals don't really work, and a shapely boost will serve you better. In this episode, we explain and demonstrate why.
