We meet Bill to reflect on inspiration, music, sounds and, yes, the DL4!

Welcome to the show. It is our huge pleasure to welcome a genuine leg-end of guitar in every way you could want to define: Bill Frisell. His catalogue of music to date is extensive and vastly varied, always driven by a unique approach to melody, harmony and ensemble playing that is, and only ever can be, Bill Frisell.
Bill was visiting the UK to play a gig at The Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford On Avon. He’d flown in that morning and was gracious enough to give us some time. Deciding what to cover in an interview like this is almost impossible, so we simply chatted and followed where it went, obviously taking in the guitar, pedals and effects Bill had chosen for the evening’s show. We hope you enjoy it!

And I just want to add something on a personal note, Mick here. More than anyone we’ve ever met, and even though this is That Pedal Show, it feels almost dumb asking Bill about pedals and gear. What becomes clear after talking with him for just a few minutes is that he just doesn’t think about pedals and amps and stuff in the way most people do. Some of that comes across in this interview and I hope that Bill’s artistry, vision and approach to gear is as refreshing and inspiring to you as it has been to me and Dan. Some conversations change you forever. This is definitely one of them for me personally and e are deeply grateful for the opportunity.

Enjoy the show!
