Welcome to the show. We are delighted to welcome Adam Miller back to TPS! The show today is in two main parts: in the first instance to talk about the not inconsiderable task of amplifying an electro-acoustic guitar for the stage; and secondly to take a quick look at Adam’s compact but extremely capable electric guitar 'pedalboard'.

For the electro-acoustic, we discuss overcoming some of the compromises inherent in making a traditional acoustic guitar louder: feedback, phase, dynamics… and the quack! There’s some invaluable advice and learning here.

We then move on to Adam’s approach electric guitar as a solo performer… and even do a cheeky comparison of his Free The Tone overdrive with the OD in the Helix, and… gasp… the Helix direct sound with my Two-Rock!

As a musical end to the show, we are joined by the wonderful John Smith, who lives nearby and is a good mutual friend. John and Adam play us out with a rendition of John’s song, Lily.
