Touch Sensitivity, Dynamics & Clean-Up For Electric Guitar With Simon Jarrett [Volume, Tone & Caps!]

Food for thought on using your guitar volume & tone controls the old-school way
Welcome to the show! We are delighted to be joined by our lovely friend Simon Jarrett, head boy at the school of St Kingsley Amplifiers. Via the heraldic titles and ruling tube pedals, Simon has forged a stellar reputation among guitarists and tone fans, not least because of the incredible touch and feel in his playing… which is exactly what we’re discussing today.
Be warned, you’re going to have to concentrate during this video. In true TPS style, it gets a little bit techy and discursive today, hammering home our old mantra: There are no answers, only better questions.
Nevertheless, we’re here to discuss tone caps, volume controls, modern vs 50s wiring and all that stuff that helps determine how the guitar reacts when you use the controls for clean-up. Treble bleeds, pedals… all that stuff.
Enjoy the show!
