Welcome to the show! It’s time for an old-school ‘plug ’em in and see what happens’ show.
The Flat V has hit the market in recent months (early 2023), a collaboration with our good mucker, Josh Smith and Poly Effects. If you haven’t heard Josh play, best grab a stiff drink, sit down and prepare for a humbling experience.
Anyhoo, Josh wanted an overdrive pedal to cover all his gain needs, including MIDI switchability. What popped out the other end is a truly unique approach and interface.
Now it just so happens that Dan and I are massive screaming fanboys of the Chase Bliss Audio Automatone MkII Preamp, a collaboration between that ever-innovative company and Benson. Add to that the more recent but no less unique Kernom Ridge and it seems we have three do-it-all analogue overdrives with MIDI control to boot. Let’s plug em in and see what unfolds.
