That Pedal Show – New Fender Pedals At The Fender Artist Showroom In London

Published on Mar 30, 2018

In this episode we visit Fender in London to deliver a pedalboard that Dan has put together for the company’s artist showroom. It’s a place where Fender artists can visit, hang out, manage tour gear and try new gear… including the all-new pedal range that we first saw back at NAMM in January 2018.
Fender asked Dan to build a board that would enable the pedals to sound their best for artists to try when they visit. Dan set it up using TheGigRig Modular Power Supply system and a Quartermaster QMX6 switcher to keep everything clean, strong and tip-top. If you’d like to see how those kinds of boards come together in more detail, please watch these videos: Matt Schofield: and Kirk Fletcher:

While we were there we grabbed some guitars and plugged in to demo the pedals.
For anyone wanting to see the pedals compared with competitive products, that will happen over coming months – we have a full set of the new pedals back at That Pedal Shed.
For now, enjoy our voyage of discovery as we’re let loose in the candy store…

Thanks to Neil at Fender for having us, and for the magnificent burritos!

A quick note on Jazzmasters from Mick: "I did some reading when I got home and discovered that Jazzmasters typically use 1 Meg-ohm pots (1000k) which would account for the high end thing we were talking about, in addition to whatever the wider, flatter coil design is doing. Jason Lollar has some great articles at his site if you want to read more, for example…
Apologies to all you offset fans and any confusion caused by our ham-fisted explanation.
Please enjoy the video…
