Do you need to control the voltage to your amp?

Welcome to the show! We’ve been intrigued by the AmpRX Brown Box ever since we first saw it. It’s a voltage attenuator (not regulator) designed to sit between your amp and the mains AC from the wall. Via stepped voltage attenuation increments, the idea is that you can find an ideal mains voltage for your amp. Why? We discuss all that in the video…

We also stumbled into a blown mains fuse when hammering two amps and making wild voltage changes, the reasons for which we discuss with Cassandra Sotos and Clark Singleton from AmpRX at the end of the video.

For the record, we’ve been running amps on the Brown Box ever since with no issues whatsoever. Please don’t be put off - the mains fuse is there as a protection. It was just doing its job.

Enjoy the show!
